Crisis Counselling- Lev Rachel Hotline

Named in memory of Rachel Roth (Zemel), o.b.m the help-lineprovides a listening ear to women coping with the trauma of their own cancer or that of a family member.

The line is staffed by trained volunteers who have either suffered from cancer or have cared for an ill family member. The volunteers, who receive professional training and ongoing supervision, are able to provide knowledgeable and empathetic peer-support. The telephone allows callers to preserve their privacy while at the same time feel free to ask questions and discuss their fears.

While some of the callers are in need of one-time referrals or other medical information, many need ongoing support and assistance. Beit Natan volunteers build relationships with these callers, many of which last throughout their treatment and beyond.
