An informed patient is a better patient, one with a greater sense of well-being and control. Yet the lay person (patient) who wants information often has great difficulties finding medical educational resources that she can understand. This is where the library is of use- offering books, videos, tapes and internet access geared to the specific needs of the individual patient. Materials in English and Hebrew include Anatomy of an Illness, Getting Well Again, the Healing Family and more. Various medical textbooks and encyclopedias are often consulted and a wide variety of stimulating lectures are available on cassette tapes and videos.
Beit Natan is searching for a donor to support the expansion of the resource center to make its unique service available to those interested.
